"One who eats Qi will attain enlightenment and prolong life."
-- Tao Hong Jing (456-536 C.E.)

Elements of understanding sometimes seem lost in translation. This quote may be such an example, but what it attempts to convey is how basic, pervasive, and all-encompassing the concept of qi is to every aspect of life. Read more here.

TWO UPCOMING TALKS - Save the Dates!

Two talks have been scheduled that will be discussing various aspects of Classical Chinese medicine. Both will be held at the Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick, Maine. They are FREE and open to the public.

Wednesday, June 29, 2016, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm - The Meaning of Life

The first talk is entitled "The Meaning of Life from a Daoist Classical Chinese Medical Perspective -- a little philosophy, a little cosmology and how our unique lives can be manifestations of optimal health and endless possibility."

Many people may have heard or had direct experience with acupuncture or Chinese medicine in helping to resolve pain, insomnia, seasonal colds and flus, or digestive complaints -- there are a variety of conditions for which acupuncture offers safe and effective treatment. In addition, the philosophy and cosmology that underlie this medicine can also offer us a greater context in which to live our lives. It is a rich understanding that I am excited to share with a larger audience.

Wednesday, September 28, 2016, from 6:45 pm - Life in Balance

The second talk is "Life in Balance: Lessons from Classical Chinese Medicine"

Stress plays a role in all of our lives, almost unavoidably. Fortunately, Classical Chinese medicine provides a framework for how we can manage these external and internal influences, enabling us to realize contentment and to live a life of purpose. Come learn more about what this ancient wisdom has to offer us in living life in awareness and balance.
